THE NAVIGATOR PROPELLER GUARD
Protection for Your Propeller
The Navigator Propeller Guard’s main purpose is protection and safety of your propeller and the things around it. The guard prevents damage to the prop from underwater debris such as rocks, trees and grass. Without a guard installed the propeller is exposed and vulnerable to seizing or breaking. The guard also protects against injuries by keeping marine life and people from lateral propeller entry.
Increased Boat Performance
Much of our testing also has shown an increase in the boat’s performance when a guard was installed. Some of the performance benefits of the navigator propeller guard include faster planning times. The guard channels water to the propeller therefore creating more thrust to get boat up out of the hole quicker. Placing a guard on a boat also showed an increase in handling and maneuverability of the vessel. With the added surface of the guard it increases the surface of the drive and handling is improved since there is more area in contact with the water.
TESTING & PROP PROTECTION
Without a propeller guard, your boat is at risk of damage from unseen rocks and other debris.
Both of these boats were tested in the same conditions. One without a guard and the other with.
Choose Between a Powder-Coated and Uncoated Finish
-
Our guards are made from cast aluminum.
-
In salty or corrosive water environments a non-powder coated guard is recommended.
-
An uncoated guard acts as a sacrificial anode and prevents corrosion of the drive.
